About the estate

The family-run Domaine du Haut Pressoir has been operated for four generations and spans 25 hectares of vineyards in Rablay sur Layon within the Anjou region. The soils, consisting mainly of schist and gravel, provide favorable conditions for cultivating Chenin and other grape varieties typical of the appellation. The estate practices reasoned agriculture implementing soil management, grass cover between rows, and canopy management to control yields and enhance quality. Harvesting is conducted manually or mechanically depending on the wine style, with hand-harvesting required for the Crémant de Loire and Coteaux du Layon. In the cellar, the winery combines traditional methods such as barrel aging with modern techniques including temperature-controlled fermentation.
