About the estate

The SCEA Clos de l'Écotard estate located in Courchamps in the Val de Loire farms 15 hectares of vineyards in the AOC Saumur denomination and was founded in 2007 by Michel Chevré, who produced his first wines in 1992. The history of the estate is rooted in family traditions before Thibaud Chevré took over the management in 2024. The fragmented plots are spread across the communes of Courchamps, Fosse-Bellay, and Saumur, featuring argilo-calcaire, argilo-sableux, and sableux soils. The estate has been managed under organic agriculture certification since 2011 while utilizing biodynamic techniques, which includes working with horses in certain parcels. The winery is listed in the Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris exhibition catalog.
