Clos d'Elpis

About the estate

The Clos d'Elpis estate is situated in the heart of the vineyards of the Roussillon plain and was founded by two friends, Jean-François Daudiès and Benjamin Roig. The plots follow the Via Domitia on a terroir of sand, clay, and rolled pebbles that store solar heat during the day and release it at night. The grape varieties cultivated include Grenache gris, Grenache noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Roussanne, and Marselan. In the vineyard, the soils are regularly tilled to eliminate weeds with respect for the environment. Vinification and aging are carried out in traditional, hand-crafted Italian terracotta jars designed to highlight the pure character of the grape variety.
