About the estate
The Château Martinat estate encompasses eleven hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg appellation in Lansac, which was taken over in 1994. The vineyard soils are characterised by veins of small gravel as well as red and brown clays, where Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec are grown with an average vine age of 35 years. Vineyard management practices include debudding, green harvesting, leaf stripping and manual harvesting. In the estate's cellar, the red wines are aged in French oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation also carried out in barrels for specific cuvées. The winery is certified and dedicated to producing terroir-driven wines.
The eno directory lists 6 wines, mostly from Merlot and Malbec.
