About the estate

The Chateau l'Ermite d'Auzan estate is managed by four generations of the Castillon family and traces its origins back to the twelfth century. It is located in Saint Gilles on the southern slopes of the Costières de Nîmes, facing the Camargue and the Mediterranean Sea. Spanning eighty hectares of vineyards, the estate cultivates grape varieties such as Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Muscat petits grains, Grenache noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Cinsault on deep Rhône gravel soils. The property is certified for organic and biodynamic agriculture, protecting the vineyards through aromatherapy using plant preparations produced on site. Wines are produced under the AOC Costières de Nîmes and Gard IGP denominations.
