About the estate

The Cave Defayes & Crettenand winery was founded in 1965 in Leytron in the Valais by the Edmond Defayes and Jean Crettenand families. Today, the estate encompasses more than 6.8 hectares of vineyards located on the gravelly soils of the village and the alluvial cone of Saillon. Production is focused on traditional specialties of the Valais, with a particular emphasis on the harmonious match between soil and grape variety. The portfolio includes wines such as Humagne Blanc, Humagne Rouge, Riesling, and Pinot Valais. The family-run business is now managed by Stéphane Defayes and his son François, who continue the winemaking tradition.
