Birghan René

About the estate

The Birghan René estate located in Pfaffenheim, Alsace, looks back on more than three centuries of winemaking history and is currently run in the seventh generation by Christiane Birghan and Jacques Formaniak. In 1953, the family pioneered estate-bottling for their wines, shifting away from bulk sales. The portfolio features certified organic wines and crémants produced in harmony with nature and without chemical inputs. The viticultural approach harmoniously combines traditional expertise with modern cultivation methods to authentically express the characteristics of the regional terroir.
