About the estate

The Bioweingut Weitzel estate in Ingelheim am Rhein is run by three generations of the family, who took over the winery at the beginning of the 1980s. Seven hectares of vineyards have been cultivated according to organic guidelines and in harmony with nature since 1993. The vineyards are situated in steep locations in the Bockstein with limestone weathering soils. The portfolio includes Pinot varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Laurent, Dornfelder, and Portugieser, as well as Riesling, Chardonnay, and the regional specialty Silvaner. The red wines mature in wooden barrels or barriques following manual harvesting, whereas the predominantly dry white wines are aged in stainless steel tanks.
