About the estate

The Biocave - Marc Güntert estate is located in Miège in the Swiss Valais and was founded in 1979 by René Güntert. Since January 2018, the family business has been run in the second generation by his son Marc, who is supported by his sister Corinne. The vineyards are situated on the right bank of the Rhône on various terroirs, where grape varieties have been adapted to the individual plots over the years. The entire estate is farmed according to the strict guidelines of Bio Suisse, completely avoiding synthetic chemical treatments in both the vineyards and the cellar. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are handled with minimal intervention to allow the expressive wines to fully develop their character.
