About the estate
The Attems estate looks back on a long history dating back to 1106, when the family dynasty first held viticultural lands in Collio, before passing into the ownership of the Frescobaldi family in the year 2000. The vineyards cover 44 hectares on terraced slopes west of Gorizia, benefiting from varied soils including the distinctive ponca sandstone formations of the Collio DOC. Cultivated varieties include native grapes such as Ribolla Gialla and Friulano alongside classic international grapes like Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Merlot. Agricultural practices emphasize biodiversity, soil fertility management through cover crops, and careful harvesting by individual parcels. In the cellar, vinification is tailored to each parcel and wine style using stainless steel tanks, ovoid concrete vats, or partial barrel maturation in barriques.
