About the estate
The Adega de Borba estate is located in the Borba sub-region within the heart of Alentejo, boasting a history that dates back to the times before Portugal was a kingdom. Around 230 winegrowing partners cultivate 2,200 hectares of vineyards, with approximately 75 percent planted to red grape varieties and 25 percent to white varieties. The regional soils are predominantly characterized by red limestone and schist formations, and the local microclimate benefits from a higher average altitude and the influence of the Serra d'Ossa. This combination yields balanced, elegant, and fresh wines with remarkable aromatic profiles. Production is associated with the Alentejano IG and Alentejo DOC denominations.
