About the estate

The WeinSteindl estate, recognized as Austria's first organic winery, has been cultivating about six hectares of vineyards according to organic principles since 1980 on the shores of Lake Neusiedl and at the foot of the Leitha Mountains. The Pannonian climate with numerous hours of sunshine favors the growth of grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Traminer, and Bouvier. Farming is conducted in harmony with nature, supported by biodiversity in the vineyards and manual harvesting of the grapes. In the cellar, the winery relies on a combination of temperature-controlled fermentation, aging on the fine lees, and maturation in barriques and small oak barrels. In addition to wine, the family-run estate also produces grape juice and fine brandies.
