About the estate
The Weinmanufaktur Walporzheim estate was founded in 1871 by six individuals and is today the second-oldest winegrowers' cooperative in Germany. Currently, 105 members cultivate approximately 19 hectares of vineyards in the best sites of Walporzheim along the Ahr. On the steep slopes and small vineyard terraces, red grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Portugieser, Early Pinot Noir, and Dornfelder as well as white varieties like Riesling and Müller-Thurgau thrive. By avoiding heavy machinery, the winegrowers carefully preserve an ancient cultural landscape. The estate combines traditional manual labor with modern cellar technology.
