About the estate

The traditional Weingut Reef is a family-run estate on the Moselle, which was first documented in 1773 and is now jointly managed by Bernhard and Matthias Reef. The estate's vineyards are located in the well-known sites of Monzeler Kätzchen and Osanner Rosenberg in Osann-Monzel in the Central Moselle region. Production focuses primarily on Riesling, which thrives on the local slate soils, while the portfolio is also complemented by Pinot varieties and red wines. In the vineyards, the estate relies on environmentally friendly viticulture featuring biodiverse cover crops, needs-based fertilization, and strict yield reduction. Harvesting is traditionally carried out by hand, followed by natural and gentle vinification in the estate's own cellar.

The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Noir. The estate sells to retail.
