About the estate
The Weingut Prieß estate in Ingelheim was founded in the early 1960s by Herbert and Irmtraud Prieß as a mixed farm with fruit growing and viticulture. In the mid-1970s, the estate began marketing its own estate-bottled wine, before son Klaus Prieß joined the operation following his winemaking apprenticeship. In 1997, fruit growing was discontinued in favor of expanding the vineyard area and focusing entirely on bottled wine sales. The grapes originate from vineyard sites in Ingelheim and Groß-Winternheim and are vinified using a combination of state-of-the-art cellar technology and traditional methods. For the premium red wines, the estate utilizes an old vaulted cellar with wooden barrels.
