About the estate

The Johanninger estate was founded in 1994 in Biebelsheim and is managed by a team across the Nahe and Rheinhessen wine regions. The winery cultivates vineyards in sites such as the Biebelsheimer Kieselberg and Honigberg as well as the lower Nahe, growing varieties including Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. Operating under organic viticulture guidelines since the 2013 harvest, the grapes are largely harvested by hand. In the vaulted cellars, the wines are vinified almost exclusively dry, complemented by a sparkling wine production using traditional bottle fermentation and an in-house distillery. Since the 2012 and 2014 vintages respectively, all red and white wines are produced vegan.
