About the estate

The Fuchs-Jacobus winery was founded in 1979 and is managed today as the Gut Steyerberg estate by the family. The estate cultivates steep vineyards in the Nahe region, which are characterized by weathered slate soils. Cultivation is carried out consistently according to the strict guidelines of biodynamic viticulture in harmony with nature. The steep slopes require a high proportion of manual labor during the care of the vines and the harvest. In the cellar, the estate relies on spontaneous fermentation and natural vinification without artificial additives.
