About the estate

The Eichenstein estate in Merano in Trentino-Alto Adige cultivates four hectares of vineyards at altitudes between 250 and 600 meters. The family of owner Josef Waldner has dedicated itself to viticulture for 350 years, with the modern era of the winery beginning with the establishment of the wine-growing area in 2007 and the construction of the cellar in 2014. Grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Bianco, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Schiava thrive on soils composed of porphyritic quartzite, granite, gneiss, and slate. The alpine-Mediterranean climate and mineral-rich soils shape the character of the wines, which are produced naturally and respectfully in the vineyard and the cellar.
