About the estate
The Schmid Stingelin winery was founded in 2007 with the planting of the vineyard at Chilchrain in Nuglar in German-speaking Switzerland. The south-facing steep slopes feature calcareous and stony Jurassic soils. The estate cultivates resistant grape varieties such as Cabernet Jura and Solaris, managing the vineyards in an environmentally friendly manner without chemical-synthetic sprays. In 2010, the winery established its own small cellar in a former village shop, where the grapes are processed naturally. The wines mature gently in steel tanks as well as in barriques and carry the AOC Solothurn designation of origin.
