The VIRNA Az. Agr. di Borgogno Virna s.s.a. estate located in Barolo, Piedmont, has deep roots in the region with family vineyards dating back to 1720 and the official foundation by Enrico Borgogno in 1950. Today, the winery is managed by sisters Virna and Ivana Borgogno, with Virna being the first woman in Italy to graduate in oenology. The estate follows sustainable agricultural practices under The Green Experience guidelines to preserve biodiversity and the natural environment. Their production includes wines under the Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, Dogliani DOCG, Langhe DOC, and Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC denominations.
