About the estate

The Vinhos Margaça – Soc. Agrícola de Pias, S.A. estate is located in Serpa within the Alentejo region and looks back on an eventful history that began in 1976 with the agrarian reform and occupation by local farmers. Following decades of market changes and the widespread appropriation of the Pias name by industrial brands, the Margaça family took over in 2020 to establish a new strategy. Under the Família Margaça brand, the estate is dedicated to reclaiming the authentic origin of its wines and restoring the true identity of Pias. The portfolio includes wines certified under the Alentejo DOC and Alentejano IG denominations.
