About the estate
The Usakhelauri estate is located in Tsageri within the Racha-Lechkhumi region and cultivates the rare Usakhelauri grape variety in a narrow gorge between the villages of Okureshi and Zubi. The vineyards are situated on steep, south-facing slopes surrounded by mountains such as Mount Khvamli. The winery was founded in 2000 on inherited land to revive traditional production after a long hiatus. Cultivation is carried out entirely by hand, as the steep mountain vineyards do not permit machinery and the fragile vines require intensive care. For vinification, the estate relies on traditional methods involving fermentation in Satsnakheli and subsequent aging in Kvevri, resulting in unfiltered wines.
The eno directory lists 4 wines, mostly from Usakhelauri and Tsolikouri.

Usakhelauri grapes turn themselves into a flawless emotion. We gather the crops, let the wine brew, chill the wine, exactly like in November, and then bottle it in springtime.
