About the estate
The historic wine estate Torre Alle Tolfe is situated on the gentle hills near Siena in Tuscany, tracing its roots back to 1316 with the first written records of wine production on the property. The estate takes its name from an eighth-century watchtower built by one of Charlemagne's knights to defend Siena. Currently, the Castelli family manages the 50-hectare certified organic agricultural estate in its fourth generation, which includes 13 hectares of vineyards and 17 hectares of olive groves. From the vineyards, wines such as Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG and Chianti DOCG are produced through spontaneous fermentation with minimal intervention. The estate distributes its products via an online shop while also welcoming guests to its historic hamlet featuring accommodation and a restaurant.
The estate sells to importers, distributors and horeca. Export markets include Belgium, Germany, Czechia and United Kingdom.
