About the estate

The Strommer-Gabriel estate is located in the center of the historic old town of Rust on the western shore of Lake Neusiedl. The Gabriel family has been documented there since 1528 and was elevated to the nobility in 1656. The winery currently farms around ten hectares of vineyards in prime locations featuring sandy loam soils on sedimentary limestone. Half of the vineyard area is planted with red wine varieties such as Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon, while white varieties like Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Yellow Muscat, and Riesling are also cultivated. Favorable climatic conditions and careful vineyard management allow the production of fruity dry white wines, velvety red wines, and noble sweet wines such as Ruster Ausbruch.
