About the estate

The traditional family-run Achs estate based in Gols has been under its current management since 1990 and looks back on a history spanning many centuries. The winery has evolved from a formerly white wine-focused operation into a renowned red wine producer, with a strong emphasis on grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir. Farming is conducted biodynamically and relies on intensive manual labor as well as a deep understanding of local soils and sites such as the top single vineyard Altenberg. Great attention is paid to selective hand-harvesting and minimal intervention in the cellar with the goal of crafting age-worthy wines characterized by finesse and elegance. The wines are distributed through selected partners and merchants both domestically and internationally.

The eno directory lists one wine. The estate sells to retail, horeca, importers and distributors. Export markets include Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Belgium.
