About the estate

The Montioni estate was founded in 1978 by Adeodato Montioni in the Umbria region and is managed by the family today. Located in the hamlet of Pietrauta in Montefalco, the winery encompasses approximately 40 hectares of land featuring vineyards, olive groves, and grain crops. The vineyards are cultivated using the spurred cordon training system to ensure focused quality and balanced yields. The cultivated grape varieties include Grechetto, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Sagrantino, which are crafted into wines such as Montefalco Rosso and Montefalco Sagrantino. Harvesting is performed strictly by hand, followed by controlled fermentation and maturation in wooden barrels within the underground cellar.
