About the estate
The Tenuta di Saragano estate is located in Umbria on the hills between Todi and Montefalco. The Pongelli Benedettoni family has owned the property since the 13th century, with the winemaking history officially beginning in 1921. Across the 220-hectare estate, vineyards are situated at an altitude of over 470 meters and cultivated according to organic farming standards. The grape variety portfolio includes Sagrantino, Sangiovese, and Merlot for red wines, alongside Grechetto, Trebbiano Spoletino, and Riesling for white wines. The winery, renovated in 2020, and a historic sandstone cave provide the setting for the maturation of the wines.
The eno directory lists 7 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Merlot.
