About the estate
The family-run Lima Mayer & CIA Sociedade Agrícola, Lda estate was established in 2002 in Monforte, located in the Alentejo region. The wines are produced at the historic Quinta de São Sebastião, which was once part of the estate belonging to the Marquês da Praia e Monforte. Grape varieties such as Syrah, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Alicante Bouschet were carefully selected based on their suitability for the local terroir. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks and traditional lagares with temperature control, complemented by a prolonged maceration. The wines are subsequently aged for twelve months in French oak barrels and an additional twelve months in the bottle.
The eno directory lists 14 wines, mostly from Alicante Bouschet and Tempranillo. The estate sells to horeca and distributors.
