About the estate
The Le Fonti - Panzano estate has been managed by the Schmitt-Vitali family since 1994 and produces around 40,000 to 50,000 bottles annually. The organically certified vineyards are situated in a horseshoe shape directly below the village of Panzano in Tuscany and are planted predominantly with Sangiovese, alongside Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Cultivated on soils consisting of schist, clay, sand, and stones, the vineyards are farmed sustainably with hand-harvesting and rigorous grape selection. In the cellar, the winery utilizes a combination of traditional spontaneous fermentation and modern stainless steel and oak barrel aging. The estate exports its wines internationally to numerous countries.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Merlot. The estate sells to distributors and retail. Export markets include Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.
