About the estate
The Il Ghizzo estate was founded in 1950 when grandparents Fulvio and Fermina settled on the Il Ghizzo farm and planted the first vineyards. Today, the winery cultivates around seven hectares of vineyards in Emilia-Romagna using traditional grape varieties such as Barbera, Croatina, Ortrugo, and Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, alongside international varieties. The estate farms its vineyards organically and produces wines under the Colli Piacentini DOC denomination. The local soils consist of ancient red earths, which offer favorable pedomorphological conditions for viticulture.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
