About the estate

The Herdade da Anta de Cima estate is located in the Serra de Montargil within the Alentejo region and is owned by the Tenreiro family. Agricultural operations follow the region's traditional agro-forestry system featuring cork oak forests and livestock, while the vineyards utilize fertile, well-drained clay soils. Following a long interruption since the 1950s, viticulture was revived on the property in 2010, leading to the first wine production in 2012. Under the argilla label, the estate produces distinctive wines from Portuguese grape varieties through integrated farming methods that promote local biodiversity.
