About the estate
Located in St-German in Valais, the Germanus Kellerei estate is operated as a long-standing family business. The history of the winery dates back to Edgar Schmid, who turned his nature-loving hobby into a profession in 1978. Today, the family cultivates 1.5 hectares of vineyards and vinifies the wines in a new winery built in 1990. The portfolio includes Valais classics and proprietary specialties. The working method is close to nature, allowing soil and fruit to experience the natural course of the year without unnecessary intervention in order to produce robust, fruity, and full-bodied wines.
