The Château Fougas estate is located in the Côtes de Bourg appellation on a plateau featuring an atypical topography and natural drainage. The geological subsoil consists of limestone from the Molasses du Fronsadais, covered by hydraulic and eolian colluvium. The surface soils are composed of fine blue ferruginous clays combined with sand and gravel. The winery's approach relies on maintaining a living soil with an active fauna and mycorrhizae to promote the assimilation of minerals by the vines. This farming method aims to produce complex and mineral wines that express their terroir.
