About the estate

The ELLENA GIUSEPPE Az. Agr. Di Matteo Ellena winery is located in La Morra in Piedmont and covers a total area of approximately 15 hectares divided between vineyards, hazel groves and woodland. The estate was founded in 1966 by the brothers Francesco and Giovanni Ellena, who acquired the property after working as sharecroppers. Following a long period as part of an agricultural cooperative, the family returned to vinifying their own grapes in the historic cellars in 2009. Today, three generations work side by side, practicing traditional viticulture with short pruning and low yields.
