About the estate

The Egermann estate cultivates eight and a half hectares of vineyards in Mönchhof, Austria's oldest documented wine-growing municipality. Formerly operated as a mixed farm, the business specialized in viticulture in the early nineteen-eighties through Paula and Johann Pillinger. Operations were further intensified over the following years before daughter Anna Egermann took over management, vineyard work, and sales in two thousand and seven. She is actively supported in cellar work and winemaking by her husband Erich Egermann. The soils in and around Mönchhof consist of sand, gravel, loam, or chernozem with pebbles, which together with sites such as Holzäcker form the basis for the estate's wines.
