About the estate
The Donabaum Sighardt estate cultivates vineyards on barren primary rock terraces in Spitz along the Danube and in the Spitzer Graben within the Wachau region. For generations, the winery has pursued close-to-nature viticulture with diverse vegetation between the vines to promote a vibrant ecosystem. The portfolio extends across sites such as the Auleithen, Bruck, Brandstatt, Almenreith, Biern, and Kalkofen vineyards. The grapes are gently pressed and undergo spontaneous fermentation in the historic wine cellar of a courtyard dating back to the 12th century. The selection features classic Wachau varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Riesling alongside additional white and red grape varieties.
