About the estate

The Domaine Michel Girard et Fils estate is located in Verdigny en Sancerre in the Loire Valley, originating from a family of winemakers with Michel and Annie establishing the property in 1973. Today, the family-run winery cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards planted with Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. The Sancerre terroir features diverse soils including flint, caillottes, and limestone clay, which are worked individually according to their specific characteristics. Vineyard management has transitioned to organic farming practices since 2023, involving systematic mechanical soil cultivation. In the cellar, the wines are crafted with minimal intervention, utilizing stainless steel vats, oak barrels, or amphorae for maturation.
