Domaine du Château de la Chaize

About the estate

Located in Beaujolais, the Domaine du Château de la Chaize estate was founded in 1676 by Jean-François de La Chaize d’Aix and has a long history as a family-owned property before being acquired by the Gruy family in 2017. Built according to plans by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and André Le Nôtre and classified as a historical monument, the winery features vineyards spanning plots across the Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Fleurie, Morgon, and Beaujolais appellations. As part of an ambitious environmental strategy, the estate focuses on sustainable management, conversion to organic viticulture, energy autonomy through geothermal and solar power, and parcel-specific vinification to highlight each unique terroir.
