Domaine des Saulaies

About the estate

The Domaine des Saulaies estate spans 19 hectares of vineyards in the Loire Valley and was founded in 1939 by Jean Leblanc. In 2022, Philippe Muller took over the property, which is known for producing wines under various denominations including AOC Anjou and AOC Coteaux du Layon. The soils consist predominantly of a fine silty-clay layer resting on degraded schists, which are ideally suited for cultivating Chenin Blanc. The grape variety spectrum is complemented by white and red varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Gamay. The estate is certified for High Environmental Value (HVE) and has been in transition to organic farming since mid-2023.
