About the estate
The Clos d’Opleeuw estate covers a vineyard area of one hectare and is situated on a southern slope in the picturesque village of Gors-Opleeuw in the Haspengouw region. The name refers to the completely walled plot dating back to around 1840, which creates a specific microclimate for producing a high-quality Chardonnay under the Haspengouw designation of origin. The wine is vinified by Peter Colemont, an oenology teacher who applies refined winemaking techniques. Maturation takes place for one year in oak casks made from both French and Belgian oak, a unique practice that shapes the character of the wine. The resulting wine is distinguished by a velvety texture, prominent oak accents, balancing acidity, and flavors of fruit, butter, vanilla, and toasted bread.
The eno directory lists one wine.
