About the estate
The Wijndomein Hoenshof estate located in Borgloon was founded in 2002 by Prof. Dr. Ghislain Houben, who planted his first vines in the hamlet of Hoenshoven on land owned by the family since 1907. Today, he farms a vineyard area of 6.5 hectares with a total of 25 different grape varieties alongside his son Jerom and his godson Simon. The winery places a strong emphasis on innovation, experimentation, and diverse blends using grape varieties adapted to the cool climate. The main objective of the producer is to give Belgian wines a more prominent position. The wines are classified under the Vlaamse Landwijn BGA denomination.
