Chateau Montana

About the estate

The Chateau Montana estate is located at the foot of the Pic du Canigou in the Aspres terroir and was established in the 19th century. Today, the winery is managed by Jean Jonquères d’Oriola, whose farming family has been rooted in the Pyrénées-Orientales for over five centuries. On clay-limestone soils, the estate cultivates traditional grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Muscat, alongside Merlot and Cinsault. Viticulture is conducted following organic practices and holds environmental certification. The portfolio includes red, white, and rosé wines as well as Vins Doux Naturels from various regional appellations.
