The Chateau la Grave Figeac estate covers seven hectares of vineyards located at the border of the Saint-Emilion and Pomerol appellations, adjacent to several prestigious estates. Caroline and Laurent Clauzel manage the winery following ethical and responsible principles, focusing on careful cultivation of the soils and vines. The sandy-gravelly soils featuring an ironpan subsoil are warm, well-draining, and nutrient-poor, which forces the vines to develop deep roots. Vineyard management practices include manual canopy work such as debudding and leaf removal, followed by manual harvesting and sorting carried out plot by plot and variety by variety.
