About the estate
The Castello Viscogliosi estate in Scarlino, Tuscany, was founded through the initiative of the Viscogliosi and Citerni families to revive traditional cultivation methods in Tuscany and Lazio. The historical roots of the enterprise date back to the time of the Boncompagni Ludovisi family in the Principality of Piombino and the Duchy of Sora. In viticulture, the estate focuses on the rediscovery and cultivation of native grape varieties such as Pugnitello and Aleatico. In addition to winemaking, the property preserves ancient olive groves with rare cultivars like Olivastra scarlinese and produces typical olive oils.
