About the estate
The Azienda agricola San Luciano winery has its roots in Marino, Lazio, and was relocated to Tuscany in 1972 by Ovidio Ziantoni, who established the estate on the hills of Monte San Savino in the Val di Chiana. On the fertile, clay-rich soils with a south-southeast exposure, the family cultivates traditional grape varieties such as Trebbiano, Malvasia, Grechetto, Vermentino, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, alongside international varieties including Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The second generation, represented by sons Marco and Stefano, has expanded the vineyard area and combines traditional foundations with modern cellar innovations like temperature-controlled fermentation vats and French oak barriques. The estate places a strong emphasis on sustainability and has been powered entirely by clean energy from its own photovoltaic systems since 2008. Its wines are produced under designations such as Toscana IGT and Valdichiana Vin Santo DOC.
The eno directory lists 17 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Montepulciano.
