About the estate

Bodegas La Cigarrera in Sanlúcar de Barrameda dates back to 1758 and is currently managed by the ninth generation of the Hidalgo García de Velasco family. Located in the historic center between the Barrio Alto and Barrio Bajo, the estate features three aging cellars distributed around a central Andalusian courtyard. Operating initially as an almacenista until 1998, the company now bottles and commercializes its own wines under the La Cigarrera brand. The portfolio includes traditional styles such as Manzanilla, Amontillado, Oloroso, Moscatel, and Pedro Ximénez. Maturation takes place in traditional oak casks utilizing the solera and criadera system.
