About the estate
The Aureto Vignoble estate is located in the Luberon Regional Natural Park within the Rhône Valley and traces its origins back to the Middle Ages. In 2006, Andy Rihs acquired the property, which is now managed by his sons Oliver and Tobias Rihs with a clear focus on biodynamics and sustainability. The vineyards thrive on red, sandy soils with a high iron content under the influence of the Mediterranean climate and the mistral. Cultivated grape varieties include Syrah, Grenache noir and blanc, Cinsault, Marsanne, Roussanne, Caladoc, and Pinotin. In the cellar, the winery relies on hand-harvesting, traditional methods, spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, and aging in wooden, concrete, and ceramic vessels.
