About the estate

The Bodega Cobertizo estate is located in Valtuille de Abajo in the heart of the Bierzo region, drawing on a long family tradition in viticulture. In 1994, the current winery was built in the Viña Ramiro vineyard to combine modern vinification with traditional methods. The vineyards are planted with the Mencía grape variety and the estate relies on technological innovations such as Ganimede tanks for controlled fermentation. The portfolio includes red wines under the Bierzo denomination of origin, which are distributed nationally as well as in markets such as Switzerland and Italy.
