About the estate

The Spanish winery Bodega del Abad was established in the year 2000 in Carracedelo, located in the heart of the Bierzo region. The family initially planted their own vineyards in Valtuille de Arriba, laying the foundation for a total vineyard area of approximately 25 hectares. Today, the estate cultivates the indigenous grape varieties Mencía and Godello across locations such as Valtuille de Arriba and Villafranca del Bierzo. These grapes are crafted into wines that are bottled under the Bierzo DO designation of origin. The operation combines traditional heritage with modern cellar techniques to produce regionally expressive wines.

The eno directory lists 17 wines, mostly from Mencía and Godello. The estate sells to retail.
