Zillinger Herbert

About the estate

The Herbert Zillinger estate farms 16 hectares of vineyards biodynamically in Ebenthal in the Weinviertel region. Since 2005, Carmen and Herbert Zillinger have been running the winery together, focusing on unadulterated wines without compromise. The most important sites are named Hirschenreyn and Kalkvogel, producing varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Sauvignon Blanc. The soils are characterized by loess and pure limestone sandstone, yielding mineral-driven wines shaped by a cool climate. Winemaking avoids additives entirely, with only a minimal amount of sulfur added prior to bottling if necessary.
